🚒 Why Colorado River Fire Rescue?

What are CRFR's shifts? 

CRFR operates on a 48/96 schedule, meaning personnel work 48 consecutive hours followed by 96 hours off. This schedule provides extended time off while maintaining operational readiness.

What are the minimum requirements for the Firefighter/EMT position? 

CRFR requires candidates to possess:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Current EMT or Paramedic certification at the time of the interview
  • A valid CPAT

Additional requirements may be outlined in the specific job posting depending on the position.

Will the department train me? 

Yes. All new hires are required to complete an internal academy prior to being assigned to shift work.

What types of calls does CRFR respond to? 

CRFR responds to a wide range of emergency incidents, including:

  • EMS/medical calls
  • Structure fires
  • Wildland fires
  • Vehicle accidents (including I-70 corridor incidents)
  • Hazardous materials incidents
  • Technical rescues

The majority of calls for service are EMS-related.
